Of the seven CRMs painters ask us about most, only ServiceTitan sends job revenue back to Google Ads by itself. Every other one needs extra tools or a developer to do it. That matters because a CRM that reports jobs to Google gets you fewer junk leads. We manage Google Ads for painting companies across Western Canada, and when we connect a client's CRM to Google Ads, less junk coming through is the change we see most consistently. It's the first thing we look at when someone asks us which CRM to buy.
- ServiceTitan sends completed-job revenue to Google Ads, but only with its separately quoted Marketing Pro package, and its docs describe it for phone leads, not web forms.
- HubSpot sends pipeline stages like "bid won" to Google Ads from Marketing Hub Starter, at a fixed value you set, which makes it the best fit for commercial painters.
- Jobber, Housecall Pro, DripJobs and PaintScout are built for running painting jobs, from $29 a month. None reports jobs to Google Ads on its own, but all four can do it through Zapier, as long as the Google click ID is saved on the lead.
- Pipedrive is an inexpensive bid pipeline with no estimating or scheduling, and it reports to Google Ads through Zapier or another connector.
Which CRM to pick, in one minute
Start with the kind of painting you do, then check whether the CRM can report jobs to Google.
- Residential, 1 to 15 people: Jobber or Housecall Pro, plus CallRail for call tracking. DripJobs if you lose too many jobs between the estimate and the yes. PaintScout if estimating is your bottleneck.
- Residential, larger, with office staff and a real ad budget: ServiceTitan with Marketing Pro, if the quote makes sense.
- Commercial, strata or institutional bids: HubSpot. Pipedrive if budget is tight and someone can maintain a connector.
- You already have a custom CRM: keep it, and have whoever maintains it send job outcomes to Google Ads. More on that below.
A CRM that reports jobs to Google Ads gets you fewer junk leads
Google Ads learns from whatever you mark as a conversion, and most painters only mark "someone filled out a form." To Google, a $300 touch-up request and a $25,000 strata repaint are the same result. So are a homeowner ready to book and someone just collecting prices. Google then finds more people like whoever fills out forms most easily.
The fix is called offline conversion tracking. When someone clicks your ad, Google tags the visit with a click ID. If your CRM keeps that ID and later tells Google "this lead booked a job," Google looks for more people like the ones who booked. That's where the drop in junk leads comes from.
Some CRMs do this on their own, some need a connector or a developer, and some make it very hard. That's the column that matters most in the table below.
How the seven CRMs compare
Only ServiceTitan reports job revenue to Google Ads natively; HubSpot reports pipeline stages; the rest need outside tools.
| CRM | Best for | Published starting price | Reports jobs to Google Ads | Estimating and crew scheduling |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ServiceTitan | Large residential or commercial shops | Not published | Yes, completed-job revenue, with Marketing Pro | Yes |
| HubSpot | Commercial and B2B painters | Free; paid plans per seat | Pipeline stages at a fixed value | No |
| Jobber | Residential, 1 to 15 users | $29/mo, 1 user | Through Zapier | Yes |
| Housecall Pro | Residential, Sherwin-Williams shops | $39/mo, 1 user | Through Zapier | Yes |
| DripJobs | Residential sales follow-up | $97/mo, 1 admin | Through Zapier | Yes |
| PaintScout | Residential estimating | $99/mo, 1 user (annual) | Through Zapier | Yes, scheduling with an add-on |
| Pipedrive | Commercial bids on a budget | CA$19/seat/mo (annual) | Through Zapier or a paid connector | No |
"Through Zapier" means the CRM doesn't do it on its own, but Zapier can send a conversion to Google Ads when a job is won or completed in the CRM. It only works if the Google click ID is saved on the lead from the first form or call, and Zapier is one more subscription to pay for.
For phone leads, the usual extra tool is CallRail. It gives you tracked phone numbers, so a call from your ad is recorded as coming from Google Ads, and it can report those calls to Google as conversions. CallRail starts at $50 a month for calls; tracking web forms as well starts at $95 a month. Reporting the eventual job, rather than the call, still takes extra setup on top of that.
ServiceTitan reports job revenue to Google, if your leads call
ServiceTitan sends completed-job revenue to Google Ads without outside tools, dated back to the original ad click. It can also send a predicted value when the job is booked, then the actual amount after completion.
According to ServiceTitan's help docs, this needs:
- the Marketing Pro package with Ads, and Ads Optimizer turned on
- the Google Ads and Google Analytics integrations connected
- ServiceTitan's dynamic call tracking on your website
The docs describe this for people who click an ad and then phone you. They don't say web-form leads are covered. If most of your leads come through a form, ask ServiceTitan to show you a form lead reaching Google Ads before you sign. ServiceTitan says Marketing Pro is available to Canadian customers.
Neither ServiceTitan nor Marketing Pro has published pricing. Read the order form closely: ServiceTitan's terms say that if you leave during a committed term, you owe all the remaining payments.
HubSpot is the best fit for commercial painters
HubSpot handles long bid cycles with several contacts per job, and it can tell Google Ads which bids you won. From Marketing Hub Starter, HubSpot can send pipeline events such as "bid submitted" or "job won" to Google Ads, and it saves the Google click ID on the contact when tracking is set up.
The limits, from HubSpot's own docs and pricing:
- Each event goes to Google at a fixed value you choose, not the real job amount. HubSpot removed its "use the deal amount" option, so real values need a developer and a custom workflow.
- Starter can sync 5 events, Professional 50.
- Marketing Hub Professional is $800 a month on an annual commitment, plus a one-time $3,000 onboarding fee.
- There's no crew scheduling or job costing, so you still need separate software, or a spreadsheet, for running the work.
Jobber is the simplest start for residential painters
Jobber covers quoting, scheduling, invoicing and payments at clear, published prices, and can report jobs to Google Ads through Zapier. Per month, billed annually:
| Plan | 1 user | 5 users | 10 users | 15 users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | $29 | n/a | n/a | n/a |
| Connect | $99 | $149 | $229 | $299 |
| Grow | $149 | $229 | $299 | $399 |
| Plus | n/a | $399 | $449 | $529 |
Month-to-month costs more (Connect for 5 users is $199). Extra users are $29 a month each, job costing starts on Grow, and card payments are 2.9% plus 30 cents.
For Google Ads, connect Jobber through Zapier to send won or completed jobs to Google, and add CallRail if you want phone leads tracked. Jobber's Local Services Ads booking integration is US-only, so Canadian painters can't use it.
Housecall Pro has cheap painter packages through Sherwin-Williams
Housecall Pro's Sherwin-Williams painter packages are among the least expensive full field-service plans, from $39 a month. Per month:
| Package | Users | Price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primer | 1 | $39 | Sherwin-Williams catalog, measurement-based pricing, estimates, scheduling, online booking, invoicing |
| Basecoat | 2 | $79 | Job costing, production-rate estimating, progress invoicing, time and GPS tracking, QuickBooks sync |
| Topcoat | 5 | $189 | Sales pipeline, advanced reporting, open API, dedicated onboarding; extra users $35 each |
Two catches. Housecall Pro works in Canada and bills in US dollars, but some features, such as ACH bank payments, are US-only, and the Sherwin-Williams page doesn't say whether Canadian painters qualify for these packages. And there's no built-in Google Ads connection, though Housecall Pro can report jobs to Google Ads through Zapier, and Topcoat's open API allows a custom setup. Housecall Pro has its own call tracking add-on and a CallRail integration. Its Local Services Ads inbox lists 25 supported trades, and painting isn't one of them.
DripJobs is built to follow up on every estimate
DripJobs automatically follows up with leads and estimates, which is where many residential painters lose jobs. Pro is $97 a month and Advanced $147, each with one admin user, billed month to month. Growth, for five or more users, is custom-priced.
The painter features cost extra: Production Rates is $99 a month, Job Costing $49, and Chat, for texting, $25. Pro with all three comes to $270 a month before extra users, whose price isn't published.
DripJobs has no built-in Google Ads connection, but its Zapier integration, on Advanced and up, can send accepted proposals to Google Ads as conversions, provided the Google click ID is carried through from the first form.
PaintScout is the strongest estimator, and needs help for Google
PaintScout is the most painting-specific tool here, with production rates, measurements and interactive proposals, but no built-in Google Ads or call tracking features. Sales is $99 a month billed annually ($119 monthly). Scheduling, pipelines and job management come with the Operations add-on, another $79 a month annually ($99 monthly). Extra team seats are $20 a month. Onboarding is free, optional setup packages run $999 to $1,999, and there's a 14-day trial.
PaintScout connects to Google Ads through Zapier, so accepted estimates can be sent to Google as conversions.
Pipedrive is a cheap bid pipeline with more setup
Pipedrive is a simple per-seat sales pipeline for commercial bids, with no estimating, crew scheduling or job costing. In Canada, plans run from CA$19 to CA$109 per seat a month billed annually (Lite, Growth, Premium, Ultimate), and every seat is billed whether anyone uses it or not. For Google Ads, Pipedrive relies on Zapier or other third-party connectors to capture click IDs and send won deals back to Google, which means another subscription to pay for and maintain.
A custom CRM can do this too, if it keeps the click ID
Several of the painting companies we work with built their own CRM, and that can work as well as ServiceTitan for Google Ads. We've connected custom systems to Google Ads for clients, and two things make it work:
- Keep the Google click ID on the lead. Capture it with the first form fill or call and never drop it.
- Fill in the lead record as the job moves along. When the job is sold and finished, the record holds the actual sale value, and that number is what gets sent back to Google.
If you have a custom CRM, ask whoever maintains it whether it does both today.
If you run Local Services Ads, plan for Google's 2026 change
Google is moving Local Services Ads into Performance Max campaigns, and your old LSA reports won't come with them. The move started with select US categories in August 2026, more US accounts follow in late 2026, and accounts outside the US, including Canada, move in 2027. Lead history carries over; performance reports don't. Download or screenshot your reports before the switch, and retest any LSA-to-CRM setup afterwards.
Test the whole path before you trust the reports
A CRM only cuts junk leads if one real lead makes it all the way from ad click to a completed job in Google Ads. Run this test once your CRM is connected, and again after any change to your website or CRM:
- Click your own ad, or create a test lead through Google's ad preview tool.
- Call the tracked number, or submit your website form.
- Book the lead as a job in your CRM and mark it complete with a value.
- Check Google Ads over the next day or two for that conversion and its value.
If the lead disappears at any step, Google is still optimizing for form fills, and you'll keep paying for junk leads.
Not sure your CRM is talking to Google Ads?
If you're paying for Google Ads and can't tell which leads turned into jobs, send me a note through our contact page. I'll look at how your CRM and ads are connected and tell you what's missing, whichever CRM you use.
Prices checked November 2, 2026, from each vendor's own pricing page. Prices are in US dollars except Pipedrive, which shows Canadian pricing.
