How it works

1. Enter your monthly ad spend, how many leads you got and what share turned into jobs.

2. Add your average job value and any monthly agency or software fees to see your true cost.

3. Set how many jobs you want each month, and the calculator works out the leads and budget you'd need at your current numbers.

Questions people ask

What is a good cost per lead?

It depends on what a job is worth to you. A $60 lead is cheap for a $5,000 exterior paint job and expensive for a $150 service call. Compare your cost per booked job with the profit on an average job.

What's the difference between cost per lead and cost per job?

Cost per lead is what you pay for each call, form or message. Cost per job is what you pay for each one that turns into paid work. If half your leads never book, your cost per job is double your cost per lead.

Should I include agency fees?

Yes, if you want your true cost. Ad spend alone makes ads look cheaper than they are. Add your fees and the calculator includes them in your cost per lead.

How do I lower my cost per lead?

The usual fixes are tighter keywords and locations, ads that match what people searched, a landing page built to get the call, and answering every lead fast. One painting company we work with cut its cost per lead from $153 to $63 with Google Ads and SEO.
